BBE Book Scholarship
BBE’s first scholarship…book scholarship awarded to students who have been accepted into any college or university to assist with purchasing textbooks.
ELIGIBILITY:
*Must live in Philadelphia, PA
*Must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States.
*Be a current graduating senior in high school at a Philadelphia public school
*Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
*Accepted to an accredited 2-year or 4-year college OR trade school
*Completed the FAFSA
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
*Completed BBE “We Are Rising” Scholarship Application - SELECT BBE Book Scholarship
*Copy of your official high school transcript
*Copy of your college acceptance letter {when applicable}
*Typed essay in Times New Roman, 12-font, double spaced, 1” block margins: top, bottom, left and right
SELECTION PROCESS:
*Deadline to submit application and required documents: May 1, 2022
*After completed applications are received, finalists will be asked to meet with the BBE Committee for an interview
*The winner of any of the BBE Scholarships will receive an email and/or phone call to confirm identity and acceptance.
DEADLINE: MAY 13, 2022

CLOSE THE GAP Scholarship
This scholarship awarded to students who are in need of assistance with ‘closing their financial gap’
ELIGIBILITY:
*Must live in Philadelphia, PA
*Must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States.
*Be a current graduating senior in high school at a Philadelphia public school
*Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
*Accepted to an accredited 2-year or 4-year college OR trade school

HBCU Close The Gap Scholarship
Awarded to students attending an HBCU, no specified major, can’t be UNDECIDED. Essay required.
ELIGIBILITY:
*Attend an HBCU (for 1st year students, have committed to an HBCU)
*Must live in Philadelphia, PA
*Must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States.
*Be a current graduating senior in high school at a Philadelphia public school
*Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
*Accepted to an accredited 2-year or 4-year college OR trade school
*Completed the FAFSA
